Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Cigna shares jump as CEO dims outlook on Humana deal

There are several news articles recently reporting that "that CEO David Cordani threw cold water on speculation that the health insurer is interested in acquiring rival Humana during a call with investors on Thursday. "

He's my take on it, He's LYING. Remember when David threw "cold water" on the Cigna Medicare sale... only for it to be true? David will say anything to keep stock prices high. We all know he is lying and only saying this to keep up the stock from dipping. The only thing David cares about the most is the value of Cigna Stock. This is the real reason he sold Cigna Medicare, it's to buy Humana. The truth of the matter is that David can blatantly lie and never be held accountable.

Is he lying? All he said was he doesn't comment on media rumors.

I personally don't understand the play with Humana's MA business - it seems like Cigna couldn't figure out how to be profitable at it. So the remedy is to do more of it?

What’s wrong in this strategy? Sometimes you need to let go small fish to catch the big one. Cigna’s MA was pretty much a money pit with loss and legal battles.

Cordani is obviously lying.
The MA sale is proof they’re interested.

You are correct.

David cares only about quarterly earnings and will say whatever will prop up that share price.

He’s gone from a CEO who used to consider his members and employees to a power hungry greedy manipulator.

The closer he gets to retirement the more desperate he is to follow in UHG’s footsteps for creating a massive healthcare conglomerate .

The merge and purge cycle is ALL he has for a strategy. He has not had a unique product or service idea in years.

Cigna has lost sight of all basics when it comes to claim processing and payment. No doubt in part because it’s systems are now largely managed by people in India who have no understanding of US healthcare laws or consumer needs.

I no longer have Cigna as my insurance provider due to EOB inaccuracy, claim denials and the fact that actually sent me someone else’s STD results with no explanation of how it happened.

The stress of having to work harder and harder to get less is exhausting.
