Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

I’ve started looking for other opportunities

Writing has been on the wall for quite a while. Engine, restructuring, more offshoring on the side. I expect a lot of layoffs to come our way, and I don’t want to be here when sh-t hits the fan. I think it will be worse than ever before, and it will take a long time to cull the herd. So we are talking major anxiety and stress over god knows how long. I hope I’ll be out long before that.

My guess is that the days of a long drawn out process are behind us. You either get a job or you don't, and it's goodbye. Regardless of these circumstances, every professional must always have their ear to the street for potential external opportunities.

Good for you and also what they’re hoping for … fewer severance and relocation packages to pay
