Corning Inc. has bought into the DEI lie and have hired accordingly for many years while selling their technology to China at the expense of Corning valley citizens. Look around Steuben county and see if there is any progress since NY chased out the Oil/Gas industry.
Liberal/Leftist in upper management of Corning wanted it this way. New York needs Natural gas development to bring the depressed southern tier economy into the 21st century.

Things are this way because the Houghton Era died two decades ago.

I have never seen this company go from so good to so bad so fast. Moral is in the toilet, at least in the valley. I have never heard so many people, up and down the ranks, say they are just treading water to get to retirement. In what world is this good? Executive management knows this but they sit there and do nothing. CTO leadership is non-existent. How does the man sleep at night knowing the havoc he is creating.

"Everyone who survived to this point is probably safe for the next 3 years."

Sadly there have been layoffs EVERY MONTH since September 2022 ... yes including now in November 2024. It has been a 'trickle' with occasional larger divisional and a few company wide actions. But make no mistake - as the business shifts, they are constantly moving people around and sometimes just cutting. It is not helping morale in the least.

PPG just announced a 2K cut, they are selling businesses. they want to focus more on aerospace and defense. now, we'll be affected too and you'll see us moving away from the automotive to an extent - i think cuts will be coming from that side.

Unless the overall economy takes a turn for the worst, I doubt there will be any significant cuts in 2025. The company is now doing quite well and will continue to ride this AI wave. Everyone who survived to this point is probably safe for the next 3 years. Those who were cut, and aren't too old, should try to get back in and enjoy the good pay and working conditions.
(Disclaimer: This is my view from outside the company looking in).

Don’t trust the new head of HR. I have heard bad things on how she believes employees make too much and she wants to cut employee benefits. Maybe she wants these cuts so they don’t have to layoff 🤷🏼‍♂️

Seems like whenever they announce record sales , they start cutting people again
