On 1/6/2025 Target wharehouse in Locust Grove GA laid off employees right after they got to work. Letting them drive in the cold and rain just to be laid off. No warning. If they had accumulated vacation time, they just loose it. They don't pay you any vacation time on the books. This is I'd up for all employees!!!

It has nothing to do with WFH. It's because Target hires and promotes based on personality traits such as agreeableness and extroversion, not skill or competency. There's a reason the entire executive team has the same fake fraternity/sorority personality.

Layoffs at target will prove the "Cig" theory correct. Many target employees have little experience outside of target. They think of themselves as hard working, extremely valuable "Cogs" in the whole operation. In reality, a great many are at home, forgoing daycare on company time, guzzling Starbucks while thinking they are not replaceable. Think again, they honestly don't work too hard and jobs will begin to evaporate. Litmus test is if they kick and scream about going into the office . This isn't what you call working folks! Or "Cogs". Lol

I know that WFH is slowly being phased out. And it is about time. Get off your butts, put on your khaki pants and red shirt and get back into the office. It is your laziness that is the reason sales and profit projections are way down. The free ride is over. Time to work. Ha ha ha

No, Brian is full of sh-t and should be canned. Unbelievable he won "CEO of the year" just a few years back. Walmart sales were up 5% and Amazon Retail were up 7% last quarter. Target is just horribly mismanaged and that starts at the top.

There is just something about this statement that does not add up for me. Are Target guests that different from Walmart customers?

"On a conference call with investors, Target CEO Brian Cornell noted that shoppers have been cautious with their purchases. 'Consumers tell us their budgets remain stretched, and they are shopping carefully,' Cornell said on the call. Consumers are 'focusing on deals, and stocking up when they find them.' Target's results contrast with its rival Walmart, which this week reported another quarter of stellar sales and offered a rosy outlook."

It's not 2025 yet and here is more to gift your partners as they celebrate Diwali.
Their people are here, in charge, and taking whatever they want.

Half the BISOs and a handful of other software teams. Given 60 days notice. Additional openings in India under TII

TI has their people working hard to move roles from every department. They need many millions of jobs in that country and it's checkmate.

I expect them to continue as they are—which means lots of small layoffs and not filling empty roles.

I recall a CNBC article that the company tapped some big financing from Wall Street banks. When that comes due the belt has to be tightened.
