Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Bring CBU back to.the top again?

Guys

I do not want tk rant but I want to have this thread tk help each other on navigating the change. We all know our offers are confidential and this is the only place that we can seek advice from others nnoynmously.

We know we can ask lawyer but I find this to be a waste of money as their answers from expeinece are tailored around how they can make more money themselves.

So my question is, if I turn down an offer from CNRL because it is not the same as what I have for any reason (Basic Salary or Seniority or It requires full attendance...etc.. Am I eligible for a severance and how much I should negotiate?

Chevron did a very good job promoting diversity and accelerating women into the higher levels (I say "very good", not great, as it can always be improved). Diversity has been proven to improve the bottom line of companies and encourage different perspectives. Unfortunately some companies within the O&G sector have not yet recognized this. If CNRL is smart they will continue to promote more women and help to balance the male dominated culture that many companies still hold onto. This is expected by shareholders who in 2024 know that diversity will ultiimately increase the share price.

The only people who do not like CNRL are Alberta ignorant red necks. Because CNRL showed them that the business can run better without them and with people from all over the world you can become the biggest oil company in Canada. Chevron was talking DEI but they only meant empower incompetent women to position of power so they can help other women but never really chose the best to do the job. CNRL on the other hand promoted many Indians and Chinese to really high positions and now they bought us. Engine came to us this time.

You get 8 weeks of pay if you were with chevron for more that 10 years, CBU management has not made this very clear, so those that want to just stay until the bonus should know about that

Post from TheLayoff.com

CBU is very incompetent and all what they do is ship work out to legal firm an take the credit if things go well which is almost never and blame them if things go back which is more often. They are empty and have cost Chevron millions of dollars in Litigations that were very unnecessary while lining the pockets of the external law firms on the hope these firms will hire them when get axed.

Half of CBU legal is getting jammed over to CNRL too

I'm pretty sure CBU legal has everything covered and there's no legal case that can be made for severance.

Will everyone get an offer or keep their job or will anyone will be laid off and get a package?

This is important as you can sue for discrimination.

The good news is Chevron Canada was fined by Alberta Employment Standards for breaking the law. Thanks to our id--ts in HR and Legal. So they have really a bad reputation with government agencies. I know this from an internal source within Legal.

We can leverage this to our advantage when negotiating a severance.
