Morale is at an all time low. The leadership is all at sea and essentially reverting to type in order to make themselves feel better and try and tell a positive story to teams. Whilst the share price may be artificially a little low, most predictions are now sub $20 in terms of fair value - which is still more than 50% down on 18 months ago. Viasat has no clear narrative, no solid roadmap and a lack of coherent leadership. Die hard viasatians look to Mark to provide the guiding light, but, as good as he has been this is a new world for satcom not just in terms of tech but also in terms of the scale and investment capability of new entrants like Starlink and Amazon. Viasat needs to find its place in this new world, and this place is NOT the status quo. It needs to evolve, reposition, and communicate in order to be able to come back. A lot of people have left or are leaving - call it what you want (seems layoff is a loaded phrase for some people) - some are voluntary, many are not. But it is not the volume that counts as much as the quality of the people that are going and the gap they leave behind. Some kindness and respect it due for those who have been asked to leave, however, I believe that they will find it a blessing in disguise.
