Is anyone else drowning in work? We lost some teammates in the last round of layoffs, but unsurprisingly, the workload didn't budge. It's become too much to handle for the rest of us with everything piling up. I'm worried we'll lose more people as some realize this is too much, and then the rest of us will be even more sc--wed.

I did the work of 2.5 people, I was in the October Rif. I thought my workload would keep me safe, I was wrong.
I am drowning. I have found that a lot of departments I work with have taken the approach of "we don't have anyone to do so it's not being done" so work just drops in to the abyss. My work can't be off-shored.
I’ve found that the offshore people do indeed pick up the slack. If I need something done, I put in a ticket request (it seems everything needs a ticket). It doesn’t get done, or gets done wrong, but at least it’s not on my plate. And if my manager bounces it back to me, I can truly say it’s not my job. I’ve become the model of the modern Elevance worker.
There’s unrealistic expectations thinking that reductions in staff while simultaneously kickstarting transformation work and maintaining the ordinary sh!tshow of work is manageable. Especially with revolving door requirements and horse trading as a budget philosophy.
