Thread regarding ViaSat Inc. layoffs

Viasat to report earnings Wed Nov 6

It must be really bad if they want the news to be buried by coverage of the election.

By the way, back under $10!!!

@3upb+1vgVhmWW Yes, very poor judgement on his part. His 20+ year career growing Viasat really didn’t pay off for him. Being Board Director really puts him at risk now. What are you even saying?

Analysts have already taken into account F1 going into service. Baldridge has poor judgement to take the Viasat job in the first place.

Earnings this quarter will be fine. Do you think United just immediately pulled the plug on all Viasat services? F1 came online and started generating revenue and working through the backlog. I would say earnings will probably beat. Do you think Rick Baldridge would just throw $825k of his own money at $14.91 per share if he didn't think it would go well over $25 again? I'm guessing there will be some positive updates around d2d and new hybrid orbit offerings

How can Earnings go well? Just sayin.
I guess GooRoo can explain how more folks have gotten laid off thru VRP and invol.
But does that move the needle on VSAT financials?
Should be a fun call. I bet all the Execs are making their excuses not to be there.

You're the mo--n. First of all, it's the SEC not the FTC that regulates financial reporting. Second of all, the exact date doesn't matter. Some companies have already started reporting Q3 earnings. Viasat could have picked a day last week, or they could pick a day in middle of November. But no, they picked the day after the election when all non-election news would get buried.

Not a fanboy in the least, just letting mo--ns like yourself know there are FTC rules around earnings that drive the call date.

They literally have to file that due to FTC law. Don’t start stupid rumors.

Yep definitely has nothing to do with them releasing earnings the first week of November every year. If they wanted it buried they would have done it on Tuesday.
