A genuine question for those hotshots who left, where have you landed and how are you doing? With all the greedy CEOs across the companies doing layoffs, especially in Tech, how are you doing? Not saying XOM is a place to be but I am sure your response would help deflate egos of leaders like BK, DW, KM, etc.
Not an EMIT person, but was a finance person. Took a new job and have significantly better pay and work life balance and access to the C-suite. None of which I had before.
Went to a large vendor. New job’s good. Happy I left.
Well, I've moved on to manage IT across several departments for the State of .
Still doing the same type of work - creating, modifying and destroying data for the good.
But this is much better and doesn't cost me a dime!

Tech sector layoffs are artificial since they all found job elsewhere, very few remains unemployed… whereas the koolaid drinkers in Exxon have insular view of the world and mostly unemployable elsewhere

Considering that the tech sector shed over 200,000 jobs since 2023, my guess is that the hotshots aren’t doing so great.
