Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Severance

Pretty sure my team is in line to have our jobs eliminated. What kind of severance can we expect? How many weeks do they pay out per year of service?

I was recently laid off after being at Target almost 20 years. They give you 6 weeks of pay plus 1 week for every year you’ve been there (maximum of 26 weeks pay). It’s paid in a lump sum. There is no negotiating and they won’t round up on your time at TGT even if you’re a week short of another year. They have been giving people 60 days to find another role internally.

I've heard that it's a week for every year of service. I'm sorry to hear about this being so close to the holidays. I'll ask, what area is possibly being eliminated?

A week per year? That’s awful! If someone is there for three years, they’re seriously giving them less than two paychecks?

Typically it’s a week of pay for every year served. I recently was laid off but found a new job before my end date was up. Talked to my peer and they got a week per year.

Which team if you don't mind saying.

Did they tell you that your roles are being eliminated? Are you having to train new TII "teammates" to take on the basic functions of your team?

The severance packages haven't been good lately. As the person above said, you'll probably get about 3 months.

I'm really sorry to hear that. With the recent quite layoffs, they've been giving people a certain number of weeks to find a new role internally before kicking them to the curb. Severance will then kick in. Its recently been around 12 weeks give or take a few based on years of service,

Which area are you in?
