Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

MAHA

Anyone else pondering the whole MAHA possibility vs the insurance industry?
I’m wondering if some of the “challenges” we are facing are the possibility of big changes coming in Jan if RFK Jr. and his team are in play

Keep national politics out of it. This is about company & industry greed - that's it!

These Big Big layoffs started more than a year ago - they have been planned for a long time, well before MAHA was being talked about. Also the idea that RFK is truly able to make changes doesn't line up with what we have seen from the guy and whether there is substance under the talking. By his own admission he is cognitively compromised due to the brain worm

They cut people to save money. They do not care about you. Well upper management does not, your manager does but has no say in the cuts. But remember there is life after anthem / Elevance.

I’ve heard this is a concern with leadership and that there will be more layoffs in November. In my opinion this is fear based decision making and leadership should see how things play out instead. Why cut valuable staff in a knee jerk reaction? In the long run you are ki-ling morale and losing potential opportunities for growth but cutting off loyal employees with institutional knowledge.
