"Newly created Chief Marketing Officer" position. We didn't need this. At all. The stores need more hours so we can staff more than a single person in the stores. Associates can't even take sick days when they're running 103° fevers, can't go to their parents funeral, and are literally wearing diapers to work because they can't leave the store to even use the bathroom but sure, lets add yet another ivory tower position.

Apparently working alone and taking working lunches IS legal as “we are the business owners” which is what the new d-mb C—-T ML from the red circle big box store told me. Meanwhile she’s working from home whenever she wants.
Our region has lost 2 contracts this year and another is REALLY upset about our scarce customer service and inability to keep up with even basic requests due to understaffing and the staff we do have being are too bogged down so they forget things or have to prioritize and the schools don't like where they fall in the hierarchy. Our newest contract is very unhappy with our performance for the same reasons - they weren't told so few people would be handling things and feel their store is handled like the company doesn't give a cr-p about it. But thank goodness we have another C-level employee, I was really scared about how we'd continue to operate without adding another one.
Diapers? That’s a new one. I think not letting people attend a funeral or wear diapers is a legal issue. It’s also an issue with the person who did this without standing up for themselves.
Labor for stores is no longer an issue as the Ivory Tower can reliably count on unpaid volunteers from the schools for unpaid internships.
Real need is for high paid proven brain talent, preferably from Sears, Kmart or CVS.
Let the big boys handle the complicated stuff.
