Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

New Board Member

"Chris Capossela is joining our board of directors starting today.
Chris spent his 32-year technology career at Microsoft, serving the past ten years as the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer."

A 32 year Microsoft guy joining the board? Yeah....bet your bottom dollar were going to be an MSFT company at some point. There positioning us internally for that.
This guy will make sure all the moves we make are aligned with what MSFT wants.

both companies are bad, together nothing changes ... mega mergers eventually produced lumen but nothing and no company can truly fix it, just salvage if you dare ...

What would make it worth Microsoft taking on Lumen’s debt?

Yep. And the alignment is clear. Makes some deals, hype the stock price, get bought. But who is Lumen aligned with? MSFT is the answer. "Lumen" just becomes a brand of MSFT no different than the word "Defender".

"Right! And this company has your best interests at heart. If you stay with that company? Its your own fault for assuming they care."

Haaahaaaahaa, I love this reply that keeps going around about a company caring for you!?!?! Folks, unless you are employed at a company with less than 25 people...at the end of the day, no company "cares" about you other than a red line number!! The same way the Stock Market looks at a company...the same way the Elites look at the Stock Market numbers...the same way the Stock Market looks at regulations and World events...and around we go. Greed and Power has been the almighty ruler for several decades, is it any wonder why the world is the way it is now. We need to take off the blinders and call it for what it is...celebrating meaningless, temporary wins and stock market that will fluctuate just from 1 third country ruler having a bad day! Now consider they have all our retirement savings and personal wealth heaved into it as well...WE ARE ALL JUST NUMBERS, don't kid yourself otherwise. Our priority is to try and maximize what we get handed in a hyper-changing environment and that is even becoming to painful when it changes on the daily. Good luck to all of us just trying to live a beautiful, normal life that seems unobtainable from the outside.

Nice that Lumen made a deal with Meta, who is laying off people in big numbers.
Lumen will become MSFT.

No. This is Kate's shallow pool of talent and networking at work. She's bringing in loyalists she knows to shore up her position, without regard to competency.

Ugh. Hes now on the board, and the board has to approve raises and STI payouts,
So the stock price had better stay high otherwise there goes the raises and STI they promised next year. And probably more layoffs are coming.

"Microsoft’s chief marketing officer Christopher Capossela, who just cashed out $4.4 million worth of stock, told employees angry about lack of salary raises that their best way to increase their pay is to make the stock go higher, according to screenshots of an internal conversation viewed by Fortune."

Seems like a great guy...
