I used to deliver $ to the vault in the basement. I read that US is exiting that building. What's the fate of that department? Relo to Gresham or...?

The number of employees in big pink that have to move to col center is less than 75. Prob more like 45. They only had a few floors on plaza. I know I’m one moving and it’s no big deal. Some are moving to standard ins building downtown.
We are getting Shanghai’d to Gresham. I think a lot of us on the west side would have put up with the homeless methheads that infest downtown Portland if we had known Gresham was the alternative. Bank is probably hoping for attrition.
That's good news, I'm happy for them. No such thing as a building move that doesn't have layoffs at my current employer (WFC), so enjoy it while it lasts.
They have been planning the exit for years, it's just now finally happening. The long term real estate strategy is to move out of leased buildings where they can, and out of downtown areas. The days of 15 year leases are over.
They are moving to Gresham (Columbia Center). Offices had to be packed up by 10/20 with 12/16 move in date to the new location. No layoffs that I know of, just a relocation. I live on the SE side so not a big deal, but many colleagues live in outer Beaverton / Hillsboro and beyond. They are looking at a 45 minute-to-1.5-hour commute times. 3 days in office are required. Feel bad for the folks that have to scramble for daycare. The Hoteling system is used in the new location. No fixed desks / offices and no personal items that can't be packed up at the end of the day. We have a new reservation app that will be used to reserve desk space. I think the most that can be reserved is 10 days out.
