Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Taking bets on next week's announcements

Which ones are more likely?

  1. Pat steps down
  2. 18A and Panther Lake delayed
  3. Samsung to "buy" Intel foundry (bankrolled through CHIPS)
  4. QCOM to buy out CCG
  5. Altera is sold for a few $100M, which Pat quickly pockets to his golden parachute account
  6. More "right sizing" coming for Intel family
  7. Macroeconomic conditions and AI Headwinds

#1 for sure. No free coffee is a grave injustice! Andy Grove turning in his grave if he sees what’s happening to y’all.

@1pbt- can I have one last $35 QPB? This will greatly add to my last APB come BoY 2025

I think they will announce the latest fix to this mess is, 5 layoffs (CPMs) in 4 years 🙂

How about; we miss earnings hugely, then the bottom drops out of stock,(~$10.00), then Intel gets delisted from the DOW, then BOD has to fire Gelsinger along with Zinser. Then names Mike Splinter to come in and engineer the sale of Intel to Qualcomm….

CEO transitions rarely happen on Earnings day. It would have to be a REALLY bad miss and market reaction for them to fire the CEO on Earnings Day. Very likely scenario is that we will meet guidance on top line revenue, but miss or barely beat on bottom line profit. More troubling will be that gross margin will likely continue to be VERY low (<40%) and we might even report an operating loss. We will likely issue softer guide for next quarter and immediate future and say that the recovery will be much slower. Analysts will ask tough questions about why we are seeing softer recovery when AMD/NVDA are unable to meet the ridiculously high demand. Stock will drop 10% after hours and likely be at $15 or less on the day after. This may prompt some panic actions from board which could include pushing out the crazy CEO.

I don't know which one is more likely, but I sure hope #1 happens. He won't "step down", he will need to be pushed out.
