Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Stayed too long

The industry is now well aware of the S-show here. This week I got to round 4 at another FI. They knew a lot about us and they really hammered me about why I stayed so long. I talked about loyalty to my team and a sense of responsibility but the headhunter later told me they are hesitant about my adaptability. I can tell they’re going to pass on me.

I know lots of people from U.S. Bank who have gotten jobs at other banks who have told me coming from U.S. Bank was a positive. Why would they use it against O.P.? Sounds odd. If they know U.S. Bank is a a toxic place it seems like that would be a good reason to look for another job. Means you aren't a disloyal employee, just looking for a better fit.

If you are in tech, a big bank is a nice slow, low-pressure environment in which to take a breather, but you best be putting some of those idle hours to work keeping your skills sharp or the market will blow by you.
