Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Hybrid approach proves to be a ‘win-win for the company and employees'

How long until this gets deleted off the website?

Chief Diversity Officer Natacha Buchanan said the HOW program is a response to an evolving work environment.

“ConocoPhillips trusts its employees to do their work and is providing them the flexibility to do it in a way that is convenient and most effective for them," she said. "I'm incredibly proud to be at a company that is willing to do that and that trusts its people.”

As the mother of two teenagers, Buchanan said the program’s flexibility enables her to be more visible and present with her family.

“The HOW program meets employees where they are,” she said, “and allows them to leverage the program in the way that works best for them.”

Bottom line managers avoid managing because it includes confrontation - the few bad apples should lose the benefit. Why do companies continue to punish everyone for the actions of the few? Can we make managers manage again...there is no point trying to be a leader at COP because all of your actions are dictated to you.

Apply at Oxy. We have a hybrid schedule that has WFH Monday and Friday, and in the office Tues, Wed, Thurs. Plus, we get every other Friday off if you chose to work the 9/80 schedule. Our CEO seems to be committed to the hybrid model, and we can use some good people.

Is this the first time a "benefit" has been taken away over the years? I have been here 10+ years and can't think of any? They did alter structures of things such as the 401k have discretionary percentage of 6% (was a direct 9% automatic when I started).

Just like the gvmt, any benefit becomes an entitlement and then political su----e to remove. As such, I do commend execs for their bravery at least. Though I do believe if there were pockets of abuse, those should have been called out. If we have software measuring this stuff through Teams, then let everyone know that. It would make people try harder.

All those id--ts that decided living more than an hour away from the office was a great idea are sc--wed.

We were never trusted.
They caved in to a trend to prevent employee attrition.
Now, they're trying to passively encourage flight from the nest.
Same old song over and over and over.

This “benefit” is gone, because of us, the employees.

I am sure the company can look at stats of people offline/online in teams during these days.

Many took advantage of the WFH, and reduced the productivity.

This benefit should have always been discretionary.

Maybe because most everyone doesn’t do the “w” in wfh.

RTO disproportionately affects women, parents, people who make less, and people who live in Midland where childcare is scarce.

Not sure how anyone takes COP’s DEI initiatives seriously after this.

Silver lining- we totally owned the fruity libtard cucks pushing DEI.

She’s nothing more than a puppet, merely regurgitating whatever the CEO +1 level wants employees to hear. Don’t believe me? Just wait and see what other changes are heading your way. Smart Growth, Superior Returns, SPIRIT Values my azz. This company (the self proclaimed E&P Company of Choice) is toxic. It’s just a matter of time before it su-ks what little enjoyment you had working here out of your body, mind, and soul for good. Think about that as you enjoy one of your last remaining Friday’s working from home.

And the HOW program gets yanked when the corporation finds out employees can’t be trusted to act like professionals and continue doing at least the same amount of workload as when they were in the office full time. I’m not implying that the majority of employees were slacking, but a few bad apples can certainly ruin the entire bunch…
