So does anyone know if this is also a way to downsize and cheat people out of their bonus at the same time?

PIP equals No Bonus and No Raise.
Spot on @5jbf+1vZASGNr. Weak managers use the element of surprise to their advantage by not sharing the review ahead of time with their employees. Review conversations are certainly a two way street.
@4csr+1vZASGNr that bonus removal was for hourly employees only. And Elavon has office in Poland so why wouldn't they send work there?
I have always sent employee reviews to employers several hours prior to our review. It's supposed to be a two way, quality conversation. This gives employees time to develop questions and think about what I have written. Weak managers and those attempting to hide something don't provide this curtesy. In my reviews, I have never been provided my review ahead of time.
I got an overall rating of "Needs Improvement"- out of nowhere and no clue how or why. I was not put on a PIP (yet anyway). I asked and was told "I don't have a reason to put you on one at this time". Hmmm. Does this mean I am disqualified from AIP and Merit Pay increase now?
Did you ask your manager why you were given that rating, since you said you "have no clue"? Did you ask about AIP and merit? The performance review discussion is a 2 way conversation. Frankly you sound like a snotty little pr--k who needs to go away.
PIPs will be written in the first quarter. Part of your development plan. You can ignore your rating but your boss is telling you in their strongest voice that they don't value you and don't want you on their team.
A few yrs back I think two they raised Elavon’s minimum wage to $20.00 and got rid of the bonus program altogether. They moved important backend roles to Poland. If you work on a holiday you get paid straight time and get extra eight hours no more time in a half. They have stripped every good perk. Now they are doing it on the banks side. Elavon lost so many accounts when they shifted back operations to Poland. When the market crashed in 2008 Elavon carried the bank that is how good they used to be. To be clear USB MGT runs Elavon and they have ran it in to the toilet.

They are using PIP to target people, pretty easy to get one now. Almost like candy

@1ccg+1vZASGNr / Employees are being placed on PIP in early 2025 based on their 2024 performance. This will have a direct impact on their AIP/PBP payouts, which are scheduled for disbursement at the end of Q1.
AIP hasn’t been fully funded in years, and given the large number of layoffs and high turnover, it’s unlikely this year will be any different.
What? How? If you get a PIP in 2025 how's that going to impact your 2024 bonus?
