Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Number of 3+ exceeds

What is the percentage limit on the number of 3 or 4 exceeds that can be given this year out of the overall population? I heard that there was a limit established this year. Worked really hard this year and have tangible results to show with strong feedback but got 2 EE and 2 VC.

1 EE
2 VC
1 EM

This is the first year I've ever received an EM and the rationale for it was mind boggling. The body of work as a whole supports VC but I was knocked on the most trivial of things that somehow dropped it to EM. My super stated they were instructed to hand out more EM rankings this year. Terrible logic and rationale heading into a selection event.

I heard RBU plans to get rid of their office and move everyone to either greeley or Houston. That's the rumor at least.

4 x EEs over 4 years? Sounds like you’re at completely the wrong FL but no promotions?

RBU
1 EE

Does RBU have much to worry about with this layoff? Opinions please….

Don't think there is math, science or logic to any combination of VC and EE. Means nothing

I got 4 x E. Never got a VC yet in 4 years I have been here. I don't know what good it does.. but I keep working..keeping working harder . Keep adding value. Just gives me self satisfaction and Chevron getting value is just by product. I may get VC next year if I am still around and I would still keep working hard and smart irrespective.. just for my dopamine. Good luck everyone.

No limit. Just a message to be mindful of the ratings we give and that they truly reflect performance.

Since when was HR in charge of running the company and adding any feedback on an employee they have likely never met nor supervised? What a cluster.

HR is reviewing and suggesting shaping the distribution by dept for groups with more than 25 names. It will be a be a bell curve.

I was told by my supervisor. HR is going to review the supervisor comments and can ask them to lower someone's ratings if they don't see enough substance. Some functions are asked to review ratings with supervisor's supervisor

This is a forum about layoffs and it keeps getting hijacked by people concerned about their end of year rankings. Boo f*cn hoo!
Anyway I doubt that will have much impact as probably whole departments will be going to India

What’s the distribution look like. I’ve been getting 2 -EE and 2-VC since the switch. Feels like it’s the new average score

I have heard nothing about a limit but that could be because I talked to the right people in the know.
