Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Welcome Cigna Medicare Employees?

So in just a few weeks, we (Cigna MA) will be part of HCSC. We've been through the ringer the last 1.5 years with layoffs, many restructuring of teams, revolving door of leaders, heavier workload with less staff, and countless of meetings to discuss moving to HCSC .

Many of us look forward to wiping ourselves clean of the Cigna name and embracing HCSC, it's been a rocky ride. We are almost to the finish line. I hope HCSC rebrands us to a cool name and actually cares for it's Medicare members (unlike Cigna).

We hope you welcome us as we are all in this together.

Unless of course you were told a different story and worked hard to facilitate the “wiping” and found yourself on Day 1 being let go by a person you never saw before at 59 years old

Read project 25, they are actually trying to axe traditional Medicare and push everyone to Medicare Advantage despite it costing more tax payer money. So if anything, the changes in federal gov would be a good thing for any Medicare Advantage business. At least for the short-term until the next administration undoes all of this.

The way the federal government is taking an axe to these programs, I am wondering as well.

Any word on when Cigna employees will actually be at HCSC? Is it still going to happen?

The reconstructing of depts (layoff) were real, the closer to 2025 they did not meet the target number of people they wanted to bring over, so they started firing people. A week before Christmas cigna healthcare fired a undisclosed amount of people. Weather if was just or unjust.
Leadership has been horrible in the last 3-4 years, now I understand why, they were moving towards this sale....smh

The problem is that we will basically have the same operational leadership, just reporting up to HCSC.

If we can get out from under the current Cigna Medicare leadership and actually be allowed to have ideas, there IS a lot of talent that can help grow the new HCSC/Cigna business, but it won't change if the clueless leaders are still in place. I can't wait for the transition, bring it!

I've been on this HCSC board long enough to know their is 1 or 2 negative Nancy on this board who likes to troll. So, watch out and don't believe anything overly negative with little to no substance.

Also Welcome Cigna Medicare team!

For HCSC to succeed in the Medicare space, it needs to be innovative on how it does business and not tow the line like any other health insurance. Med-Advantage is shrinking and more people are going back to traditional Medicare.

The sc---wing isn't done, wait until 2025 when the HCSC layoffs begin.

The funds for projects in 2025 is going to be very small. This means a lot less work, which means we don't need as many employees. If your performance or RTO is low, don't be surprised by a layoff.
