Why do some people have an unhealthy obsession with job title changes in under a year or two? Where does this type of thinking originate? I don't get it. Is it a generational thing? Gender thing? Privilege thing?

'You can come in with just one year of experience as a secretary and demand a promotion to director or higher. If you throw enough tantrums and play the female card, you can get anything you want.'
Sadly true. It's not really secret.
Novelty titles.
Where's DEI to answer why Digital Marketing is almost all women? They got two or three token males. Zero diversity and fairness.
Oh, not a single person of colour, and men are vastly outnumbered, haha. No wonder we have people hospitalised.
It sometimes is.

Working just 2-3 hours a day, like many here, effectively increases your hourly wage significantly.
Three hours? That's quite generous. Many leaders barely manage an hour. Take JP and KA, for instance. Weren't they here for almost five years? What positions did they hold again? lmao
People and bots can keep playing the initials game. It doesn't matter.

This is how you spend the holiday? May you all get lives in the new year and move on from both the company and bashing an acquisition team. Sad. So sad.
If that statement about Trifacta using “sock puppet” LinkedIn accounts to catfish and su-k in unsuspecting customer is true ….. that is a MAJOR ethical breach.
If this practice was continued after the acquisition by Alteryx, then an ethics complaint needs to be filed with Alteryx Legal by someone in the know. I wonder if the Alteryx “comms” person (now an Alteryx HR VP) knew anything about this and conveniently didn’t bother to report it.
Say all you want, but the prices of broccolini and cauliflower are getting ridiculous.
'The usual one who throws tantrums?'
I'm guessing it's the one who decapitated BE, JF, MC, and continues to wreck others by spreading rumors and twisting things any chance she gets.
Trifacta used several fake LinkedIn accounts featuring photos of attractive women to engage men and guide them toward becoming customers.
There it is.
I wonder which Trifacta leader was behind those fake accounts, engaging in conversations with potential customers and possibly others? The usual one who throws tantrums?
'Is that you posting, C@ndie C@ne? Seems like your second job fits your personality.'

Not sure if this trend has carried over to Alteryx.

Gots 2 be smart if you want to cater to your second job as BDSM mistress.
What in the culture fosters this snow-flaky expectation and attitude of entitlement?
They genuinely believe they deserve a $200,000 salary with just 2-3 years of experience—it's not a joke. Over the last 10-15 years, something has shifted, and we're witnessing its toxic impact across all industries in the workplace.
I think that’s what one of the previous posters was talking about, with regard to snowflakes having tantrums about not being promoted every 12-18 months.
It’s like these people with 5 years experience expect to have the salary and title of someone with 15 or 20 years experience, yet didn’t do the hard work (nor were around to get it) to earn it.
Alteryx is the only place I’ve ever seen this in my career.

Who cares?
Your Workday job description probably labels you with a generic title. You could always apply elsewhere and embellish your title, just like everyone else.
Some people become extremely distressed if they are passed over for a promotion. Their immediate response is often to allege various forms of discrimination.
- If a male manager doesn't promote you -- People start rumors that he's or she are biased against women/men.
- If a female manager doesn't promote you? -- She gets accused of substance abuse and personal animosity.
I've never encountered anything quite like it anywhere else. Crazy.
Insecurity.
I thought it was arrogance.
Insecurity.
Same energy as "keeping up with the Jones'".
It's a drive masquerading as, "competetiveness" to achieve certain labels which they think will impress others, while placating themselves as being "high achievers."
People who really matter don't chase after prestige and labels, it just comes to them naturally, and then they're humble about it, or even self-deprecating.
They're not loud about it or boasting.
People who really matter aren't impressed by labels, either.
And that goes for clothing, cars, luxury goods, neighborhoods, and professional titles, too.
It's meaningless faux-boosting for those with sagging self-esteem.
