Innocent encounter… this time…but I was wearing a company logo shirt this week and someone approached me saying “your company steals money from me”. It ended up being a nice conversation but with so many true crazies out there, it made me rethink wearing logo shirts for a while. Thoughts?

It is best practice not to tell anyone where you work especially now. For 20 plus years now I make up an occupation on my Dr forms in fear I will not get good treatment. I never tell anyone what I do here at ELV unless I know they are not crazy. I once told someone in a class I took and was harassed. Never again....
A few years ago I filled out a rental application and when the lady saw my employer she said "your company su-ks! you're evil!" I try to avoid telling people I work here since then, there is a lot of hate for insurance companies.
I don't have any company branded stuff but I definitely wouldn't wear it in public if I did!
Greed goes both ways. Direct action as a reaction to your greed is also good. The issue is that you want passivity instead of direct resistance, you spineless wanna be sycophant su-king at the teet of hard working people. In the name of greed I hope that your employees unionize and your version of "healthcare" dies quickly.
You work for a for-profit company…"Greed, for lack of a better word, is good."

New corporate memo...Instead of RIFs, Gail and Felicia have decided to give out branded shirts and coats to everyone as a gesture of good will. To quote "It is time to think differently about our approach to financial health. We are pausing associate reduction programs and offering gifts of good will. By giving out these branded items to our valued associates and requiring that they wear them to and around the office, we are demonstrating a new hope and confidence that our financial issue will resolve itself."
This is not joke. What happened last caused a lot of anger. The sho-ter did not loose a loved one to UH. Imagine the folks who hold insurance companies acccountable for their loss. No that that line has been crossed, who knows what will happen next. Everyone should be careful.
You all got t-shirts??! (Sarcasm!)
I would avoid wearing company logos in public. We were told in a meeting to not post anything on social media about the company but no specific reason why just because of “events”. I would assume it’s because people are rightfully upset over the company wanting to limit anesthesia and the UHC incident. Is our top brass so blinded by profits or just stupid that they’d still roll it out right after it? As someone who just went through medical procedures I couldn’t imagine having the worry of financial devastation or a doctor in a rush while cutting me in addition to all the other stress. Can’t wait to find another job. I will happily take a lateral move.
@OP - You're lucky it was an innocent encounter. It could have gone very badly very quickly. The way the company is going it seems we can permanently discard anything with a logo on it - it's much safer for us that way.
I can’t imagine wearing this company’s apparel. I had an Anthem shirt way back in the day that I worked out in, but that was when it was actually a descent company to work for. No way I would be caught in that right now.
