Thread regarding AMD (Advanced Micro Devices Inc.) layoffs

Is it a good time to join AMD?

I just got an offer recently and I am wondering if it's good to join, since they just did layoffs and also - there have been 3 layoffs in the last 1.5 years.
Thanks in advance.

stay away with client (CPU) bu and AECG (legacy Xilinx) bu and those recently acquired BUs. GPU bu should be fine.

If you are joining the server pde group and don’t have either brown skin or coming from Intel, you will be living the movie “Get Out”.

No AMD does not and will not care about you. One bad financial quarter for the company and your team could be cut. They will continue to make cuts to maintain their executives bonus's. AMD going very downhill compared to others and will continue to do so. Would recommend staying away from a company like that.

No! We’re in a downward spiral and people who didn’t get cut have about 3x the work. If you’re a machine and enjoy 24/7 work come and join us. Otherwise, wait a while until things settle as I have a feeling there’s going to be a lot more cuts and “the beatings will continue until morale improves.”
