2 weeks ago they closed the cafeteria to put new furniture in. They took the old stuff out the day before thanksgiving and nothing has happened since. Now its closed through the end of the year to install critical HVAC parts. Why hasn't that been done in the 2 weeks its been closed. Have a feeling they spent the money on something else and think we are a bunch of fools that will just accept it.

They started the initial renovation prior to loosing a major renewal of a contract, in addition to draining resources on another contract with the end within its grasp, and you’re worried that they aren’t rushing the newest renovation?
Of course they ‘spent the money on something else’… why waste additional funds at those point for a ‘dying plant’
"Oh FFS.
Now you're really reaching.
Have you ever been involved in a renovation/construction project?
There are all sorts of other moving pieces involved, which can push back/delay the original expected date of completion.
Give it a rest, and go find something else to whine about.
Meantime, bring your own food in from home at eat at your desk.
Better yet, go outside and touch grass during your breaks."
So the problem is they already did all that when they did the remodel of the cafeteria. They are working in there now but all they are doing is putting up a wall where they tore down a wall during remodel and separating the kitchen area completely from the seating area. I work in an area where food isn't permitted where we sit. Also, I do go outside. One of us sounds like they drink the koolaid and take everything they're told as gospel. Not to mention they are doing something that is putting smoke and a smell of something burning in the hallways.
Asset enhancement. Just wondering, are you in an older building.
Probably getting it ready to sell. Doesn't fit their new portfolio.
I wouldn't be surprised that Hwell is delaying a milestone payment until the new year. The vendor, having Hwell experience, is thus delaying further work until next year.
I think they must have found the mother of all rats nests and /or pythons. That will delay construction. Black mold is a good thing. Strengthens your immune system.
Had to spend $$ to repave the parking lot for CEO visit

Permit approval getting delayed, supply chain SNAFUs where the parts needed are on backorder, unexpected added work needing to be done when opening up walls/ceilings to do the originally planned job (which could add to delays in planning, approvals/POs, ordering parts, sourcing labor, etc.)
