Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Always be on the lookout for other opportunities

Use the time here to skill up and fatten up your resume. Be always aware of the conditions in the job market. Just be prepared. When layoffs come, you will not be blindsided. If some great or comparable opportunity presents itself along the way, even better. I’ve viewed every company I ever worked for as simply a transactional party, and I’m always thinking about my interests first. I’m not going to spend the whole career constantly being terrified of layoffs. I wish things were different, but this is what the corporate world is dictating. I just find it funny when they expect loyalty and dedication while they never return in kind.
