some reductions in 1-2 years is more like 20% first half of 2025. It is going to be terrible.

@1bzg+1vT0ZD8C I'm assuming You've never seriously looked - if so, do list these "better companies." who knows, i may have even worked for one or two of them before.

@1gje+1vT0ZD8C I’m assuming you’ve never worked anywhere else. Grass isn’t always greener but in this case it’s not hard to find something better than 2024 Chevron

Grass is not greener on the other side. this is as good as it gets. These days, CEOs’ goals are quite singular: Short-term shareholder value, which ends up equaling C-suite compensation.

Yawn! the CEO's only goal is to figure out how to take more and more from the employees, while giving less and less to the customers. Consultancies objective is to advise on this regardless of the implications to the stakeholders - at least in the shorter term. This is true for every listed company.

Maybe full reorg of BUs? With many workflows going to the Engine, maybe an op to reclassify and group BUs a new way. Heard it’s more than just layoffs, Mckinsy been busy with a ‘Project’…they can’t leave terrible enough alone.

I think this news leaker knows things. Please keep them coming but don’t be so vague. Help us, the axeman cometh for us all.

I would like to have the ability to vote for BS instead of just up and down arrows. Regardless if there is more news coming out, vague posts are just as stupid as clickbait articles. Don't sink as low as the company and throw out a doozy just to backpedal it and not provide details.

If there is no certainty then it's better there should be minimal communication.. don't keep these sh1tty meetings.. town halls every now and then to remind people and spoil their holidays.. all it does is stress them out rather than help ..

I didn't think the news last week was so terrible. They just said there would be some reductions in the next 1 to 2 years. That was everyone's expectation with the Hess deal, San Ramon moves, and struggling oil prices. If prices recover or Hess doesn't go through, they could change their mind. Two years is a long time in the world of oil prices.
