Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford culture

Ford once had a great culture, but what happened? How did we go from being a company people were proud of to this toxic environment that everyone seems desperate to escape? It’s hard to believe we’ve ended up here, and even harder to understand how things got so bad.

The toxic woke crowd crept in. The fun governors. The snitches. The ones we whisper about behind their backs. The ones who get annoyed having to actually do physical work. The old timers didn't want to play their game of nonsense and split or were about to anyway. The good people left behind have to tip-toe thru their nonsense, as they slowly rot the company from within.

Farley hated legacy engineers. “There too stupid to engineer an I phone on Wheels”. He’s a weasel. BEVs are mostly machines. He has his head up his b-m.

You design a HPDC block, oil pan, front cover, etc. you can engineer a damn battery box or subframe support.

DF can engineer pink bunny slippers. Why if DF and JF still employed at Ford?

Sorry to tell you but you obviously don’t know how things work. I don’t know of a single employ, non management, that was/is fine with the way suppliers were/are treated. Unfortunately employees have no power or voice to change that. So don’t be so happy and vindictive that we are now getting the same treatment you have bin. you don’t like how you are treated but you are ok for us to be treated that way just because we work there? Bottom line is they have become ruthless wether you are a supplier or an employ. Nobody is looking for you sympathy, but you are pointing the finger in the wrong direction.

Funny how when the shoe is on the other foot Ford employees react.

Ford is notorious for treating their suppliers poorly. On demand price reductions, imaginary volumes, debits for implied quality issues. Ford lead the industry in resourcing products to low cost countries.

Ford employees were fine with this until management used the same tactics internally and now it’s a culture issue.

You reap what you sow and won’t get much sympathy from those outside of Ford.

@1hck+1vRueSEd “How someone this dysfunctional rose to the top is astounding.”

No it’s not astounding. It happens all the time. Farley is the byproduct of generational wealth and influence. It’s no coincidence his cousin was a comedy/movie star (Remember: for every role there are tons of people lined up. Some better, some worse. This does not matter because the connected person ultimately gets the role).

Just Google search:

https://issuu.com/portsmouthabbeyschool/docs/bulletin_summer_2021_issuu/s/13188036

He went to a private boarding school where the yearly tuition is $74,825 today. His dad was an international banker. The concept of “self-made” is at best a lottery but mostly a myth. In the words of George Carlin “It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.”

We went to SV to find talent and by doing so imported the SV toxic culture.

It’s what happens when a CEO hates the people he leads. Is there any question Farley hates all legacy Ford employees? The very people who dedicated their adult lives to Ford and created the very culture, he’s adamant must be destroyed for his success. A leader with even basic competence would have leveraged our culture as an asset. What a dangerous fool. How someone this dysfunctional rose to the top is astounding. In addition to his own bumbling, he’s seeded all these toxic tech dou--ebags throughout the company. These people have been the equivalent of a culture dirty bo-b. They share Farley’s hate for Ford culture by and large terrible humans and they are terrible at business. Each is racing the clock to drain Ford into their own pockets and move on. We are witnessing a colossal tragedy unfold before us at our own peril. Time for a beer.

Ford promotes DEI, which only benefited and focused on black people. This is a big mistake. This is why no one cares about this company anymore.

Ford 2000 was the beginning of the down fall, when they instituted promote based on potential and not on merit , accomplishment or skill. That’s when friends and family promotions started taking over and now has a tight grip on the company. If you don’t have a friend or a family member to pull you along, regardless of your skills, you don’t stand a chance. Now the place is full of and being run by these people that got promoted for the wrong reasons. And this is what you get. How sad.

@1twu+1vRueSEd

Yep, HR is only present to protect Ford with lawsuits. HR will not help you with age discrimination when identified, HR will not help you with cronyism/promotions when identified...

Many of the productive workers are pushed down or out and the remaining are social butterflies and lazy.

LCC - Low Cost Countries

Just wait until the media finds out where they have sent all the engineering...

Ford is seeing the same thing that happened with Boeing we used prioritize quality and focus on what we did best there was a sense of originality of what a ford car meant and we lost that a while back. Our leadership started jumping on trends be it stopping affordable cars like fusion focus , jumping on Evs and now we are comparing ourselves with Chinese automakers. If I talk to any engineer in the company and ask what is the focus of our work for next 6months most likely they won’t have a clue because we change everything on a dime. One of the dept brought in this guy based on DF recommendation and this guy basically pitted 2 different teams doing exact same thing against each other creating a toxic environment that I have never witnessed before and just last week they decided to dissolve one of the teams. All the work for 2 years totally scrapped. This is not a team anymore and then they wonder why quality is bad. Just repeating the same thing over and over in town halls won’t change anything . I think we will witness this company merging with other oem or bought by Elon in our lifetime

Ford HR is a big cause of this culture mess, they are the worst group in the company. They stay hidden from everyone outside of HR, I wonder why. All they are employed for is to protect bullies in the company and facilitate retaliation on anyone complaining about said bullies.

I know of 2 top notch bullies that unbelievably got promoted recently. Both terrible people with numerous credible complaints against them from the working class, but Ford HR promotes them to upper management!

And jimmy wonders why it's toxic here and going down the drain as a company. Totally clueless clowns.

Company been in decline since FORD2000. The quality and launches have been a disaster since 2000CY starting with the Escape and Focus.

  • No management bench what so ever.
  • More focus on TVM than quality. talk about a savings get rid of TVM Organization.
  • reduced testing and vehicles.
  • Ford use to play to win. Now they follow. When I heard Chuck Grey make a comment in 2020 about Truck starters costing more than GM .. yeah coming from a PT guy not a real Truck organization person who would not put up with that comment.

Last I heard F-Series was no longer the #1 selling vehicle.

it starts with trying to remake a 100year old family company into a cut throat start up software company and hire bunch of backstabbers from west coast. starting with JF, DF.

It's all about the leadership. And this starts at the top. When the C suite is talking bad about the workers, how can the culture be anything but toxic.

How? Because Ford HR recruited toxic leadership. Like hires and promotes like. Decent management cannot survive the backstabbing of the toxic. HR knows what these toxic people people do, but they see it as 'the cream' is rising to the top.
