DWW - Reflection

In NAC video, he says he likes to take this time to reflect and so will I. As I think about the last 7years objectively, what has DWW achieved and what has degraded

Achieved
Got us through COVID and survived Engine1.
Created more clarity on our climate programs
Streamlined the organization and got rid of end of life assets

Degraded
Staff bench strength esp upstream. We just don’t have the capacity or capability anymore for the long term. S&D model only focused on CL38 POT. Any less than CL38 POT should just leave as they frankly don’t care.
Morale; we all are NOT EM anymore. morale is rock bottom
Long term portfolio. Got rid of end of life assets but pipeline of new assets is all relying on a few assets (Guyana, Permian)
All HR benefits and pay. We now say our market position vs competitive.

DW does not trust upstream technical personnel, that is why DA is in (to shake things up). Geologists have not brought forward a quality exploration portfolio/opportunities since Guyana, while failing in Canada/Brazil. Unconventional does not require many Geo...mainly drilling, subsurface and facilities. Many more geo's need to be cut. Research needs needs to focus only advancing seismic interpretation and reservoir modelling. Almost everything else in research can be cut or sent to India. Need to sell Aus (ex Gorgon) and Mal and Ger and everything in GOM except Thunderhorse.

Agree on the comment about ruining the Qatar relationship. Notice who they named their first LNG tanker after? It wasn’t DW.

To make matters worse the gutting of the upstream bench has made us unable or unwilling to staff roles in Qatar further straining the relationship. S&D keeps proposing HiPos for stretch assignments when what the Qataris want are proven experienced people who have demonstrated performance in similar roles.

The person or people that will be materially impacted by the future event enabled by ”enthusiastic” cost cutting to fill ~500 people’s RSU accounts already likely work here. Undoubtedly, the parasite class has already written them off as expendable, like the rest of the workforce

They’ve basically acknowledged that 90% of their employees are interchangeable. They will focus on the top 10%

Ruined the Qatar relationship

Pros: None. He has single handily turned us in to the future Boeing or GE
