Medicare departments are getting offshore to the Philippines. From UM reviews, claims, etc. feel sorry for the members and providers having to deal with offshore Philippines representatives or offshore Indian people processing their claims.
Personally not ready for Medicare yet, but the Medicare Advantage products are designed with delays and denials built in. Think of it from a business perspective: how can a company deliver the same product/service for free (nothing in addition to the base Medicare premium) as would be offered from traditional Medicare + supplemental + a dr-g plan? Some offer dental and gym membership as well. On top of that, the government still keeps a bit of that premium paid for administration. They only way is to ration utilization with roadblocks. The providers are getting buried in records and justification requests as well.
I left the Medicare space here when we started with the Medicare Advantage plans. Couldn’t sleep knowing I would be facilitating that.
When my time for Medicare comes, it’s traditional for me (if it’s still a thing).
If Medicare, a loved one would still be with us to celebrate this holiday season. Fighting with Medicare Advantage caused a delay of 8 months to get approval, unfortunately the clock ran out before treatment could start. Was told if it was straight up Medicare, then it would have been covered immediately. Then you read all the fraud in the MA space and you just get 😞
On top of which the new joke of an administration is going to destroy lives even more regarding healthcare.
Are you aware that Medicare is administered by private health companies?
