Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Getting rid of the old way of thinking.

Its in every email and every TH to get rid of the old way of thinking. Wouldn’t that include getting rid of Jane? Its her regime, her way of thinking that got us here to begin with. Let’s not kid ourselves, she’s been with Citi for quite a while approving and giving the thumbs along the way on decisions that got us where we are today.

If we are “out with the old ways” and “in with the new”, shouldn’t she be removed as she’s been right there the whole way and has gotten us in this predicament as the end result.

Freezing promotions on the one hand, then cutting salaries on the other,or even demoting titles Iis not consistent with the MD promotions we have seen today. 75 or 85 would’ve been fair considering only 1% of in seat promotions forecasted for 2025.

It has to start from throwing out Jane and go all the way down to middle management.

Its not her that is really the problem. Its more of the VP to Director level of managers that are the problem. There are many toxic and micromanagers that truly exploit the ones below them in rank. Those are the one that goes undetected and get away with many things. Most of these managers have a rotating door for their team. Team members rotate off in a two year window. These teams are the ones that need to change and there are many within the bank.
