Tomorrow is the last day with Chevron for most of us in CBU. While I am sad that I’m not leaving on my own terms, or with any choice really, I do appreciate the time I had with this organization. I came in at a good time and was even able to do some work overseas for a few years, and I am thankful for that. In the last couple of years, and especially over the 12 months, I was starting to look elsewhere as I not really excited about what this company is evolving into, but I do wish my Chevron colleagues the best. There are some fantastic people in this company and some of my closest friends I met through Chevron.
That said, those that are leaving CBU should consult with an employment lawyer or the Alberta Labour Board on termination pay. Although the FAQs state that Chevron does not have to pay because it’s an acquisition, this is incorrect. Make sure you are getting what you are due.
I will see most of you at CNRL. With change comes opportunity, and we have some fantastic people coming over.
