It’s ridiculous to target CEOs…they don’t do anything, they are just there to make money. People need to push for law changes, not ki-l smh.

No person who has ever been arbitrarily RIF’d to increase shareholder wealth while they have their entire life ripped out from under them in a Thursday morning “business update” call should ever feel an ounce of compassion or concern for a single one of these people. If I could personally give The Adjuster a performance review, he’d get a 10 out of 5. Not sorry. When your kids start missing meals, get back to me.

“So sorry for his family. What I don’t get though is why United continued with the investor day meeting for a hour before ending it.”

Because management at all levels is 100% tone deaf. Couple of years ago when I was still there, had a “hooray for us! We’re awesome!” meeting on a Wednesday, executive director, directors, associate directors, rank and file. We were a small group, 20-25 people. The sun was literally shining out of these people’s as--s while they ruined their rotator cuffs patting themselves on the back. Right?

I mentioned that happened on a Wednesday, right? What happens on Thursday at our house, y’all? That’s right. Dad comes home from the bar and chooses violence is a good analogy. The poor people in our meeting didn’t even hear Dad’s car roll up in the driveway. They were too busy listening to enabling Mommy’s bullsh-t about how awesome our family is! Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

@2swh+1vO5JSAL Too many heartless senior leaders with no respect for human life in this world. What’s wrong with the corporate world and most of their leaders?

So sorry for his family. What I don’t get though is why United continued with the investor day meeting for a hour before ending it. That’s insane. He was shot at 6:45 am. They started the meeting at 8:00 and ended it around 9:00, announcing they were canceling because of a "very serious medical situation." By 8:00 they had to know he had been shot. Why the he-l would they still go on with the meeting for an hour???? Wtf?!

His replacement will be worse than him it usually is. I mean I don't work for United anymore and honestly if I didn't I still wouldn't care but at the same time I don't buy that it's a disgruntled employee either.

It would've happened a lot sooner than this if so.

So was it denials or all the laying off in the company? Or are people just getting crazy and sick of everything going offshore? Cause you know another major insurance company is doing the same thing. Karma gets those that treats people cr-ppy.

Anyone could look up the investors day schedule with a google search, it took me about 4 seconds to find it…

Ruining people's lives for corporate greed from a corner office has its perks.

It just goes to show at the end of the day, no one is that important at their job. It’s business as usual. He will soon be replaced at work while his family mourns. Incredibly sad situation, but just a reminder to not put your work over your family and other things you love in life.

I bet UHC denies his hospital claims as not medically necessary.

It will all bill as out of network charges.

That's where my mind first went. Laid off or disgruntled employee. It doesn't justify taking a life. Incredibly sad.

@zrk+1vO5JSAL I agree it had to be someone close enough to know his schedule. They waited 10 min for him. They knew when and where he’d be.

And his replacement will probably be announced before mid day.

I agree, everyone in news keeps mentioning the insurance angle, and I keep thinking laid off employee who knew where investor conference is and/or where the executives stay in NYC.

Regardless of company issues, this is sad either way. Thoughts to his family. :(
