Elevance is spiraling out of control…cut the leadership bonuses!!! Until mid February now there’s months of negotiations for the worker bees bonuses and merit raises…it’s ridiculous. The Pennie’s given to colleagues below VP level is shameful!!!!! Several meetings for managers and above about what “meet expectations” mean so no one rates above a 3….it is absolutely sickening!!! How about we rate leadership…there would be ZERO bonuses. Gail and all your good old boys…you can’t treat hard working employees like dirt forever and keep face! Then cut these Staff VP’s they’re just middle business communication pushers!

It was their fault we're in this mess. Of course they should own the responsibility. They won't, though, and will gladly sacrifice their underlings to preserve their cut.
There’s a director who said meeting all the metrics is not meeting expectations. It was applied to QIP and guarantee they’ll apply it to merit increase. So an individual can hit all their numbers, and a miracle happens and the business unit as a whole met the numbers, it should mean you met and get the full award amount…WRONG. Why do you think they added in all those behavioral aspects to the performance review? We’ll be lucky to see even a piddly 2% increase at this rate.
Execs get huge bonuses....we get to choose between a coffee mug, coffee tumbler and tool set for our bonus. Would be better to donate the cost of this cr-p to a worthwhile charity!
Calibration meetings are one of the worst parts of being a people leader. Everyone’s strengths and weaknesses are on display. It is mostly weaknesses because they have to find a way to make sure nobody gets above a 3. It makes me sick to my stomach to go to those meetings and to know that all of my business was put out there at my leader’s calibration meeting with their peers.
My experience with the staff VP's. They provide no value and just get in the way of progress. They need to go.
Staff VP puts his title as VP in LinkedIn and posts on AI. He has close ties with board of directors to grow himself upwards. He knows HR leaders so he can shut down any complaints in his organization, so his favorite sr directors are safe. With great power comes great responsibility. These id--ts misuse the power to build relationships with Deloitte, and other consulting companies. Power craving executives. Cheap behavior and no basic manners to even say hello to your own associates in your team if you see them by elevator or cafe. Loaded with wick and huge arrogance. At your level, treat people in your team with respect and empathy. Not color. Shame on y’all. You stand before the ocean you are just a one-millionth speck. You take nothing when you die. Be human before being a leader.
