Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Ohhh what a mess

Having TUPE’d into DXC two months ago, I’m just coming to realise how protected we were. I’m too old to get another job but too young to retire so I’m stuck in this Corporate American Mess.
To many middle managers trying to justify their roles by creating ridiculous hoops to jump through and firms to fill in.
They have two apps recording time, one for billing one for overtime - just find one app that does both- it’s not rocket science.
Then you need to create RTAs for overtime $250 expenditure why does it need THREE separate sign offs? You two at the most.
Then there’s the corporate Amex card again overly complicated for buying fuel just get fuel cards and deduct private mileage like we used to do.

And people wonder why there’s no money for pay rises . Too many chiefs and not enough Native Americans.

You know nothing about WHY we were TUPE’d into DXC but felt the need to big them up. If you’d bothered to find out you’d have discovered we were TUPE’d in from FDS a company DXC owned

I can tell you're new t DXC because of howyou try to rationalise and impose order onto the disparate processes. My tip is stop doing that right now. you are only totrturing yourself. Look for another job and take any redundancy that might be offered. You may not realise it yet, but you are already fu---d and nobody within DXC cares about that. To be clear, this is not sour grapes from an embittered ex-employee, I left and went through some sh-t but all in all it was a very positive move compared to DXC, and all has worked out alright in the end; DXC is a psychotic disaster area. Just get yourself out of there. Thats my firm recomnendation to anybody who works there including the new CEO.

@3lke+1vNIk8XY Yes. Someone asks you to do a task, and says the client wants you on-site, or it needs to be out of hours. Instead of that just being it and you do it and claim. You, and I mean YOU have to provide a written justification on why you want to do this work that will require expenses or overtime. Those people are typically very busy and you have to chase and chase them to get it approved. You do the work, and then have to go through the whole thing again to get them to approve the payment. It's basically just not worth it as somewhere in that process it's quite likely to get rejected for you having used the wrong paperwork, and your claim being deemed void. Or if it's right at the end of a project the WBS code will have expired or been closed before your claim gets processed, and again it's just rejected. Been there as you can tell, and am no longer available for the hassle fest involved.

Same here in the UK. Way too many useless middle managers. All the decent ones have left & loads of dross just hanging on. Then there’s the added bonus of having the weird and creepy Cameron (F)art as UK MD!!

A company that makes you beg to do overtime, and beg to be allowed to travel. Doesn't deserve any staff to do that overtime or to travel. I did overtime once, they made such a fuss. I never got paid for it in the end. I took sick leave to get the time back, because the people who said I could have time in lieu instead had left. I'm not available to do it now.

It was ever thus, I was TUPEes to EDS.
Just be glad there is now concur and it accepts photos, expenses are a lot easier now than it was even within DXCs lifetime.
