My Choice PTO

I’m hearing so many rumors. Is this all associates? I’m hearing they are keeping it on the down low so our hours go to sick bank.

It’s not for all associates. If you didn’t get an email that you’re affected, don’t drain your PTO.

My choice is for M/E15^ level employees. The rest of us will continue with regular PTO plans.

Not all associates. Those of us that it applies to have already been notified. It's all level 14 and up, and all people leaders (M anything)

I visited family in Silicon Valley over Thanksgiving and many attendees had been at start-ups. I brought up the unlimited topic and they indicated it was 'new normal', they have been seeing for virtually every start-up company for years because it avoided payout of unused PTO in situations of 'involuntary separation from service".

Why did they give us one extra day of PTO in 2025 if they are going to take it away next year?

The new My Choice rules are ridiculous and further show the bad direction this company's HR policies are going. The whole point of the idea of "unlimited PTO" is that the company trusts it's leaders to be professional and responsible. The whole process of requesting/approving PTO and tracking the days used is silly. They're trying to be "contemporary" but the execution is backfiring. Senior leadership says that people won't be judged for taking more time than the traditional benefit, but who really believes that? It's human nature.

If you're not in My Choice now, definitely use your PTO in 2025 because there's a good chance this is expanding and you'll end up losing your bank.

The downside to My Choice is that most people in it don't use the time of the traditional benefit. Unlimited PTO sounds good, but in reality you end up with less.

Is this going to start at the beginning of 2025 for all associates? Right now it’s just people leaders or those who are E15. Wondering if I should use all PTO that I am rolling over (max 40 hours for my state)

PTO is only required to be paid out if you live in certain states that require it. I was rifd and lived in a state that doesn’t require payout. I had 2 weeks. But I also got paid for 30 days I didn’t work at all. It ends up being a wash in the end.

It is all associates. Major cost saver so unused PTO is not paid out. Will really hurt all the RIfs in 25
