Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Market reaction suggests that Pat was resisting further reductions or breakup.

Looks like Lip Bu Tan won so maybe he has pushed Pat out, so see if he returns in some form.

Expect a large headcount reduction over the next few months, and likely some of the merger rumors were true and Pat was trying to hold them off.

Could pretty quickly see Intel shed product divisions.

That the board waited till the chip money was inked to push Pat out suggests that the requirement to retain 50.1% ownership is not an issue, but could be that they IPO or sell the remaining ownership.

This is all good for the stock but probably really disruptive for most employees.

Word so far from leaders I have spoke with is that product performance and revenue is going to be way worse than originally thought for 2025. Pat could not keep the confidence of the board….they got too queasy.
