I have an offer to work at the Camden, NJ office… does anyone have any insight they can share? Is the location strict with working on site? Have layoffs occurred at this location? How is morale here?

HR has taken to Reddit too.

Couldn't make that engagement number so now they change it to retention, which we have no visibility into the actual numbers, so it's easy for them to fake.
Going to a website that features information and rumors about layoffs is a stupid place to go to ask for questions about company morale. Obviously this is a fake post probably generated by some HR shythead. All you have to do is scroll through all the topics on this site and read the opinions, the experiences, and the stories. But seriously, what's the matter hr? Company employee survey let you down? Well it should. And while you're faking posts on this site, take a look at your own pathetic self and the job you have.
And so long as the division performed, Corporate pretty much left us
alone. But all that changed after the merger.
As I recall it started earlier than that, especially when Qubo wanted to assimilate all the previously autonomous divisions into the QBorg. Camden was Communication Systems-East and Salt Lake was CS-West and for a long time we had practically nothing to do with each other. But then they made Salt Lake the HQ, we were subordinate to them and that's when the benign neglect started... which accelerated after the merger.
I worked there for 20 years and left right after the merger with Harris. I enjoyed my time at L3 Camden. Pre-merger, we ran a good business and overall, the teamwork was good. And so long as the division performed, Corporate pretty much left us alone. But all that changed after the merger. And from what my old colleagues tell me, its currently not a good situation.
What's the matter HR? Didn't like the way the employee survey came out? Maybe trolling a site like this will give you some more insight? Trying to identify the complainers? Human resources must have a lot of spare time on its hands to spend it on a site like this.
HR trolling this site to find out how much L3 Harris really sux.
Avoid it like the plague!
This is an HR post. Why isn't this person on Reddit or Glassdoor? One does not go to a layoff rumor site for this question.
Did you ask why the position was vacant? I worked for the organization for 20 years before leaving. Don't waste your time.
Save yourself! Don't take it!
You can pretty much get the life and soul su-ked out of you at any L3 site. Enjoy.
A chance to make a difference, but be prepared to get frustrated with lack of drive. Most of the good ones found other jobs. Technical team struggles with delivering anything on cost and schedule. Engineering leadership has never been a strength and it’s gotten so much worse since merger.
I worked there some years ago, I keep in touch with some folks who keep in touch with some folks. In other words, the rest of this post is slightly better than rumor. Anyway it appears that morale is not high and there has not been much new work coming in. There has been a lot of turnover, but I think that's been typical everywhere lately.
But there are still some really good people working there and you'll get a chance to learn a lot. I'd say go for it but keep your resume up-to-date :)
I’d approach the offer from with caution. While you'll find great colleagues, the leadership often promises stability but frequently resorts to layoffs without warning. This seems to be their way of handling budget issues, especially due to challenges in delivering on contracts. The company has potential as a short-term stepping stone in your career, but it’s crucial to have an exit strategy planned within the next year or two. Best of luck with your decision!
