Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Job offer for hybrid role. What is the current policy?

I have an offer for a hybrid role.

I’m hearing that the company is backing off of the anchor days and 3-days policies that pi---d everyone off.

What does the hybrid landscape look like now?

Cigna is not backing off on the mandatory days in the office. In fact, managers are tracking those days and your job is at risk if you aren't in the office > 20 hours over 3 days/week. That is your hybrid role - 3 days/week in the office and 2 at home - no less in the office, and you have to fill out a 'permission' slip in the HR time tracking software if you can't work in the office to get permission from your manager.

it depends on your location and your manager. if you aren’t near a “main” office like Bloomfield, St.Louis, Nashville, etc., you might just never get assigned to a desk as long as your manager doesn’t raise it as an issue.

They are not backing off and God forbid you try to request a desk reassignment if you hate your current spot. For a company boasting flexibility, you cannot request to move to a desk that's even one row outside of your team's "designation". I'm trying my best to comply, but I absolutely detest the location I'm stuck in. People taking calls all day on loudspeaker and others having obnoxious social gatherings at their desks, all while our directors who think they're better than the rest of us host their all team meetings from their cosy and quiet homes. Shame the job market su-ks or I would be out of here.

For me at least, the new manager report made the situation worse. I never heard a peep about non-compliance while HR was running things but now management is taking a more active role.

OP, I would consider your options carefully here. In-office life is actively miserable.

There are a lot of jobs in the US😂

Hardly any B4+ jobs which require business knowledge are going offshore.

They are hiring in the US? I’m curious if you can share what position it is.

Note that management now has access to a lovely dashboard to easily track office attendance of each individual who reports to them, and they are encouraged to check it regularly. This tracks badge swipes and PTO in Workday. If you are on PTO for a week, and the PTO is entered in Workday, it takes that into account (you are not required to be in office when you are on PTO).

Echoing Mandatory in office on Tuesday and Wednesday. You must be in office at least one other day, and your manager may or may not tell you which day that needs to be. Leadership on our team has very recently sat down with several folks infrequently out of compliance and still threatened disciplinary action. Several longtime high performing individual contributors and a couple managers were on receiving end of this feedback from leadership 1:1 and told to get in line immediately or they’d be out of a job shortly. Zero flexibility.

Mandatory in office on Tuesday and Wednesday. You must be in office at least one other day, and your manager may or may not tell you which day that needs to be. Failure to maintain 60% in office for office aligned hybrid role will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

They're actively trying to drive people away to replace us away with overseas workers. You'd be better off working elsewhere if you have options. No future here. They will not back off their policy and go back to full remote - they want us to get pi---d and leave.
