Do they actually happen? I’ve yet to encounter that mythical beast myself.

Have you looked on that "my pay" portal page? The one where you can see your pay slips?
I haven't yet... Not sure if I need the dissapointment
All the recent town halls have said that merit increases would take effect from 1st Dec.
I don't know anyone whose had one though, Management is very quiet. I'm assuming their options were either very limited or taken away...
Managers quiet quit just like everyone else. It's too difficult to get anything done in DXC so most people don't. The company has demonstrated that we all will all get the same 0% pay rise pretty much what you do or don't do. It's equally hard to fire someone. Managers just wait on the redundancy bus and ask if anyone wants to get on, usually the better people. I see DXC as a regular income. It's great job when you have a side hustle that keeps you busy and actually pays your way and showcases your skillset. It won't be noticed in DXC.
Not true that no one below VP hasn’t had a raise in 7+ years. When I was a high level manager at DXC I successfully achieved salary increases for many in my team, that included UK, US, and other countries. Hundreds of them. It is not easy. It is very difficult. Rarely were they the amount I pushed for but some were quite impactful. It’s much easier for low cost country employees. Low cost countries for sure are having annual reviews and increases. The manager has to be a thorn in the side of upper management. The teams have to be high performing, and most of mine were. The team members have to have sought after skills. The manager has to educate themselves on the processes and have knowledge of the pay bands. The manager has the make the cases, multiple times, and give detailed examples. Sometimes inability to hire qualified people from outside helped the cases. Like I said it’s not easy and HR actively hides information and makes it very hard. Most other managers I encountered were always waiting for HR or upper management to give them something - permission, a salary review cycle, help, etc. those don’t happen and therefore they and their people are overlooked. The manager has to be constantly pushing for salary actions and also promotion plans. They need to be always looking for any opening to push their case. They need to use every case where a skilled employee leaves to make the case for those who stay. I was more successful than most because I never, ever, gave up. Most managers give up very easily.
effectively no-one below VP level has had any raise of any significance in the 7.5 years DXC has existed, so staff who were here in 2017 are now 40% worse off which is why so many of them are quiet quitting until retirement, and just work Tuesday-Thursday to compensate
Yes, but have been around 1% and very infrequent. So still a real terms pay cut.
Funniest thing I've read on here for ages!
They do exist but don't worry you've not missed much, retention awards are were the money is.
You MUST be a new hire....
