Post-Employment: How to Remove USB Security from Personal Device

Hello all! I’m hoping there’s a current or legacy employee on here who may assist me since USB HR and IT refuse to help. I accepted an offer with another company and would like to add MS Teams, Outlook and Authenticator. However, my new company’s IT department said USB has a security hold on my personal device (iPhone). I’ve tried deleting MS Authenticator, Teams and Outlook and I still get a misconfigured message where USB blocks the ability for me to use these applications with my new organization. I’ve tried calling USB IT and HR, however they refuse to help me since I’m no longer employed there. My new IT department told me that even returning to factory state will not fix this. Does anyone have any suggestions how I may remove USB security from my phone? Thank you!

Thank you! Going to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management then deleting the USB profile seemed to work!

I ran into this issue with a side gig. I have two accounts with Authenticator- USB and the other employer. I think I just had to take out the USB email address that it defaulted to and put the other in.

I refuse to give my employer access to my personal device. If they want me to have a mobile device to use Teams and Outlook so I'm reachable at all times, they can provide me with a separate company-issued device.

There are plenty of horror stories where USB employees transferred their personal number to a company issued iPhone, such that when the employee was separated, so was their personal cell phone number, nothing is ever easy with U.S. Bank

You will need to remove the USB Profile in your iPhone Settings.

Settings > General > VPN & Device Management > From here select the USB profile and remove it.
