Cousin Eddie: Clark....that's the gift that keeps on giving all year.
Clark Griswold: That it is Eddie....that it is.
Our orgs layoffs, in August and September in particular, have gone past cutting fat and have cut meat and bone. Good employees who did their job well and contributed positively to the company. Most were mid-career, 15-25 years in with a wealth of knowledge...so not retirement age, but I imagine on the high side of salary which is why they cut them, damn the consequences and gaps left behind...
theres been more in november. there'll be more in december. there'll be more in january.
some teams still have low performers who are top of the list. of everyone i know, this is the round that will take them beyond low performers (or wrong place, wrong time due to overlapping roles) and in to wfring good people who have a lot of work to do.
percentages vary between teams and orgs. i dont have visibility of the whole company so have no idea how broad this is across the company but a lot of teams are losing a lot of people.
primarily non frontline / support roles. Sales will follow the usual end of quarter routine.
There were Ireland layoffs this week
