You either PRINT the picture, PAINT the picture, COUNT the number of pictures painted, or FORECAST how many pictures will be painted... zero ingenuity, creativity, or imagination.

Not sure why, but OP's observation is correct, and started around the EB layoffs in 2014/15. Before that, risk-taking and career development, while not universal, did happen. Maybe it was the turn towards social engineering over job performance and accountability. Maybe it was the change in leadership (although MW didn't take over until what, 2017?). Maybe it was losing all that experience in 2020. Moving jobs to India is certainly not going to help this trend.
