Given the treatment of people who were laid off this week, it’s better for everyone still here to start looking for another job. Especially veterans getting a pathetic severance will do wonders for dedication and morale. It also tells us a lot about how much we’re valued and sends a clear message that we can expect to be booted any moment without regard for the criticality of our role, contribution to the company, skills or the results.

The current crop who were identified (if you can call it that) and made redundant make no sense whatsoever and in fact are going to cause more headache and issues for those left behind. The higher-ups in the US who make these decisions have no idea the demoralisation rippling through its ranks at present and the financial penalties that may occur as a consequence.
