Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Hey guys get a load of this

There's some fiber ops tech from NY always complaining that no one else has technical skills. Wonder why apple or Facebook haven't picked him up yet

Fiber techs must think everyone that's above them just does data entry and doesn't have any field or technical skills here at Crown lol.

Learn the company and the roles available...maybe you can aspire to one of them and enhance your career someday. Just takes hard work and dedication to get there. You're right about those data entry positions though, they will be cut eventually.

Still here still valuable, and guess what? My pay and 401k will always be higher than yours unless you increase your knowledge and skill set. I don't have to work for 3 years with what I have saved up...and that's not even dipping into my 401k. Facts are hard. Enjoy working as a tech until you retire making those crumbs.

@ius+1v9Tgl4B You're funny! Data entry and bean counting is the easiest to replace, as has been done every reorg / restructure / realignment etc. Tick tock, you're time is winding down.

@ius+1v9Tgl4B That's laughable. Depending on the company that buys this mess, OPS will be the least affected. Bean counters and widget users can be replaced easier than technical personnel. Tick tock, your clock is winding down.

I'm not sure why you've created a thread for a fiber tech. I guess he struck a nerve or something...but it's a fiber tech.

They get paid what they get paid because of their knowledge and skillset; it's as straightforward as that. They're valuable, but in the same way the maintenance guy in the building is valuable. It's not like anything they do is groundbreaking or helps with a company's growth. If it was then they'd be paid more.

Let me see, get paid decent for having skills that they have yet to find a replacement for and totally remote or leave for another company that will require hybrid or on-site every day. Hmm, that's a no brainer. You on the other hand , are on borrowed time.

Facebook or Apple definitely would not take you. They actually hire people that know what they are doing, not like the manager who hired you.
