Has this been confirmed? We all know that reorg = layoffs. It would be nice, for once, to get heads up.

Centralizing everything would certainly be following more the Exxon model, so that isn’t surprising.
They’ve planned it for years. They, meaning the petrotechnical fxns.
Stop trying to make IT sound more important than it is. You’re already in the lower cost regions. This is about petrotechs. I heard from IT friends that they’ve hired exactly 0 people after intensive interviews because our offers are like 50% lower than expectation because the petrotechs (ES, AS, and other leading performance leaders) selected a nicer location, where IT people are not dirt cheap.
Enjoy it for a few more years, IT peoples. That is, if they don’t move more of your jobs to other cheap places. Bangalore ain’t it!
They invested 1 Billiin in ENGINE and built a massive facility in India completely under the radar. You really don’t think they’ve planned this reorg for years??
The announcement is the centralizing of all the functions. BUs go POOF, and you have to use CTC for everything, just like HR is centralized. Need a geologist to do work in Australia? Use the same person who just came off of a project in Bakersfield.
While all functions are getting a reorg 11/1 seems a bit soon for IT. MW just dropped the bad news in August. It takes months to decide on reorg with new teams created. The news San Ramon received is we would find out more mid November about the scope. We will find out details about move timelines in 2025. It’s not helpful to all of us in limbo to start false rumors and create extra stress over BS information. Please share information that is helpful.
11/1 is a rumor. But if you can't see that a reorg is coming, you should get your eyes checked.
Yes there will be a reorg. Consider this your heads up. Seriously.
Exactly, cheque or EFT? Asking for a friend.
