Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

HCSC employees leaving or layoffs?

Hi Cigna employee on our end people are leaving in droves, along with layoffs, teams keep getting restructured and/or can not getting anyone to apply for open positions. Is anything like this going on at HCSC now that the sale is getting closer to completion?

There will be no layoffs at Cigna ahead of the sale. HCSC as part of the sale agreement said no more than 100 could be laid off and Cigna has already laid off 90+ so there could potentially be a few people but very few. We expect some layoffs could be coming to senior levels after we get moved over to HCSC.

As a Cigna employee I was NEVER told to not reach out to a HSCS employee on social media🤔 I think it’s a free country and we can all discuss things at will. lol anyways. I’ve been dreading this sale for months now…can’t wait to work more and be off less 🫤😢

Cigna employees were instructed not to reach out to HCSC employees on social media. Wonder if this counts?

no layoffs yet. some people are looking (it’s me, i’m some people) but there doesn’t seem to be a massive exodus yet either.

As a fellow Cigna employee, this is something I too have been monitoring on this HCSC site. Considering all the rolling layoffs, we Cigna employees have been going through the last 1+ years. I'm also worried about what our Work from home situation will be at HCSC as many of us Cigna Medicare were originally hired remote years ago. Cigna had a major push for employees to work in the office along side with all other organizations recently (as a strategic way to reduce staff), but mysteriously many of us Medicare employees outside of Nashville were either assigned to continue to work from home or "assigned" to an small local office and told to continue to WFH on a interim basis (foreshadowing the sale to HCSC). Many of us are spread-out nationwide with no HCSC footprint nearby so we are all wounding what the future at HCSC will look like since they seem to be more work from office than even Cigna is. We have so many more questions with little answers. Hence why many Cigna employees are electively leaving or actively applying for other jobs to leave.

A lot of rumors, but no layoffs yet. My guess is that if it's going to happen, it will happen in December. That's their typical timing.
