Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

MW Words of Wisdom

Wirth explains, "Culture is the single most valuable asset to any organization." He further expounded that there are many things companies can go out and get if they are lacking in it, but you can't outsource culture and the well-being of your people. "Culture, you have to build the old-fashioned way. It's one day at a time, one person at a time, one interaction at a time," explains Wirth.

So Rich that he mentioned outsourcing of Culture. Can we believe a word he says?

You don't think he's going to tell us the truth. Whatever he's got on his mind or planned won't play out until he's good and ready. MW doesn't care about the company culture because it makes no difference to him. MW is only concerned about the stock price and ensuring that the dividend is paid. I'm convinced he thinks that he can do the job using ChatGPT. By the time announcements are given of the date, all the people who will be kicked out will have been selected then it's only a matter of their supervisor telling them.

but, but, with the "Chevron Way" long gone under MW, our culture in now centered on Agile layoffs every few years and maximuming Sr. managent compensation. That culture does not have a lot of added value from what I can see.

Never forget he said “I love our culture” in the last townhall before the engine announcement. Yeah… he loves the culture so much he’s keeping us all in the dark. Doesn’t have the courage to tell us so he has those under him deliver the bad news.

MW is nothing but a corporate politician. He has done a great deal to destroy the CVX culture. It’s embarrassing what it’s become.

Culture sure is critical. Pity it was decimated in 2020 by letting so many good people with proven results walk or get pushed out the door to accommodate the young ambitious not ready. It's like trust. Takes an eternity to earn and a minute to lose. Time to rebuild it Mike and start by placing value in employees. It's going to take a long time to rebuild but if we don't we will be Exxon. Or, is that the plan. Lot of similarities to the owner of the Oakland A's
