I wonder if the announcement on the 1st is to align with Chevrons earnings call. The last leadership changes and move to Houston was done the morning of the last earnings call.
That would be rather convenient since the CES closes right before that.

Nov 1 is about 60 days from the end of year, so if they want you off the books by Dec 31 they will file the WARN notice Nov 1 latest.

Someone mentioned here a few weeks ago that Nov 1 would be the IT reorg announcement. Sounds plausible to me.
