It’s becoming obvious something major is happening; finance is being offshored (never dreamt that would’ve happened), IT has always been dealing with offshoring but it seems these cuts will be deeper and longer, CBU was sold and our colleagues were left hanging, petrochemical / reservoir and etc engineering jobs are being shipped over seas too now.
So, before we wake up one day and 1/2 of our colleagues are gone, let’s share some of our fondest Chevron memories!
I’ll go first, I remember at John Watson town-hall, this Asian guy took the mic and asked in a thick Asian accent, how much luck is involved in getting to management (or something along those lines) and every in the room had a good chuckle. John Watson went on to explain that it may seem like luck, but it’s getting yourself ready to take advantage of the opportunities when they become available. I’m not doing it justice but that was pretty hilarious.
