Layoffs seem to be all that’s happening at Optum lately. It feels like nothing productive is going on anymore, like leadership has just given up on trying to do any actual work. I really wonder how long they think this “new business model” of theirs is going to last.

For leadership to have given up on doing work, they would have had to do work to begin with. Who the he-l are you kidding? These nepo-babies haven't done an honest day's work in their lives, they think they're better than you because they have ideas but are totally clueless as to how much more important the implementation is.
Why else do you think they're flooding the company with bottom of the barrel contractors with zero technical expertise?
When one sees that the Optum marketing department has seemingly been shipped 100% to India, with some goofy unprofessional looking account promoting the few remaining skeleton crew physicians in the US, it should give people pause.
Security overkill at this point. Spend all day authenticating and migrating to padu preferred.
Its a slow death of cancer from within. I doubt this company will exist in 15 years, and it will be a shell of itself in 10.
It’s been this way for years, they are just refining it, it’s a shame it’s one of the few things they are becoming more efficient at.
This will lead to long term downfall in future opportunities for the company they already have competitors coming in and people leaving as loyalty doesn’t exist from the employer
Not profitable ENOUGH???
I think they are overhauling everything over the next 5 years. Nothing will look quite the same and the programs won’t be as robust (FPM, Landmark, ISNP, etc). They aren’t profitable enough.
Just needs to last long enough for them to finish offshoring everything.
Ahhhh— your mistake is thinking that they have a long term vision that everyone is marching towards. Let me clarify, no one has a clue nor a 5yr or 10 yr visionary plan. The company has done such a great job of creating a “today” culture- it’s biting them in the rear now. No one- managers included even think they will be here for any length on time. The mindset because of this is capitalize on today for tomorrow probably won’t come. A self fulfilling prophecy
The new business model is going bare bones after paying that 22 million ransom.
